To take the second such gateway was uninteresting, so I purchased the Gateway Aqara Air Conditioning Companion to understand how it differs from the standard, round version with backlight.

Purpose, technical characteristics
The main purpose of this device, despite the name-companion for the air conditioner, is the work with wireless ZigBee sensors and switches included in the ecosystem of the Xiaomi Aqara smart home. In this it is no different from the round gateway.
